DEVA SNANA PURNIMA

According to Scanda Purana, king Indradyumna arranged this  Snana Yatra for the first time on the Purnima(full moon day) of the Hindu month of Jyestha when the wooden idols of Lord Jagannatha, Goddess Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra were installed in the Jagannath temple Puri (Orissa state of India). On every Jyestha Purnima which is known as Deva Snana Purnima Snana Yatra (the bathing festival) is celebrated to commemorate the appearance of Lord Jagannath in Puri.

The idols of Lord Jagannatha, Goddess Subhadra, Lord Balabhadra and Sudarshana (the weapon of Lord Jagannatha) are carried out from the Garbhagriha (Sanctum sanctorum, where the deities are regularly worshiped) to the Snana Mandap (bathing stage). Here the deities are bathed after a few rituals by the Daitapatis with the 108 pitchers waters taken from the northern well situated in the premises near the Sitala temple. The deities are then dressed in Sadavesha (simple dress up). Bhogalagi, the daily food offerings is done here in public viewing on the Snana Mandap. In the evening, the deities take Gajavesha, decorated with elephant headgear representing Lord Ganesha. Traditionally Raghaba Das Matha provides the attires of Lord Jagannatha and his sister Goddess Subhadra. The Gopal Tirtha Matha provides attires of Lord Balabhadra and Lord Sudarshana. Ornamental pieces resembling the head, tusks, ears, eyes and trunk of an elephant are prepared using velvet and silk fabrics natural thermocol and processed skins of banana trunk. Devotees come to see with a believe that this viewing would cleanse them of all of their sins.

After the Snana Yatra the Gods suffer from fever and are kept in a sickroom to get well in privacy under the care of the Raja Vaidya (the royal doctor). During this period of fifteen days, known as Anasara, the lords do not appear before the devotees; hence, three Pata Chitras (paintings of the deities) are kept for the public viewing in the temple. The gods and goddesses recover in fifteen days with the ayurvedic medication (Pnachana) administered by the Raja Vaidya and resume their public appearance. This goes on to affirm that even gods and goddesses in their incarnation on the earth go through the regular ailments and orders of life.

During the Anasara period, the devotees move towards Alarnath Mndir in Brahmagiri with a belief that lord Jagannath manifests as Alarnath  in this period.

The legendary Rath Yatra (Car festival) of Puri takes place after  the completion of this Anasara period. Hence, this Snana Yatra is a preliminary function of the Rath Yatra.

देश को धर्म और जाती के नाम पर बांटते हैं ,
सवाल  यह भी नहीं की वे
 ज़हर की फ़सल क्यूँ कर उगाते हैं। 

पीड़ा तो यह है की कुछ पढ़े लिखे लोग,
उनके बहकावे में आ जाते हैं,
जिन हाथों से देश को दिशा की उम्मीद रहती है,
वे इन फसलों को सींचते रहते हैं।
 

Note...Recently I join tweeter and to my utter surprise I see learned people indulge in bitter argument over castes and religions. India is multicultural nation and its varied nature is its unique beauty. Certainly some vested interest would create emotional issues. But why we learned people? Why shouldn't we ignore such people if we don't dare to oppose them? If  we can't spread love and brotherhood, why should we encourage hate politics?  How will we build a beautiful India?  Come on, be positive and do positive.    

The narratives of our life

Our indifferent attitude towards issues of national significance, social and humanitarian concerns, explains the narratives of our life, says how we want to live.

There can be many reasons for remaining aloof from reacting to the happenings of the society.

Firstly we want to live for ourselves, a solo living. We do the things that our individual and family life requires, address and react to happenings that bother our individual life. We vehemently react when our rights are disturbed.  But do we ponder, in order to enjoy those rights, we should part some duties. Even though no one compels us for our duties towards shaping up a beautiful society, but should we not voluntarily do it? Should we be only on the receiving end and expect everything good for ourselves without trying to give a bit of brain and time to see how things can be better.

Secondly, we fear to speak truth, we hesitate to get into controversy.

Ours is a multicultural, multi-linguistic, multi-religious society. So there will always be differences of opinion, controversy. Let us admit and respect all diversities because they all are truth, some of them truth for you and others are truth for some others. So let us celebrate those diversities. Remain strong in your own diversity and respect other’s diversities. Let us enjoy watered-rice while appreciate idly-dosa, let us celebrate Holi, respect Idd and Xmas. Every person having a good social feelings does that, but still there are exceptions, still there are people who disrespect diversities. Now, after going bold in your own diversity, respecting other’s diversities we need to oppose those who do not do so. We need to place our opinion humbly, because those who disturb the bridge between the diversities are also members of the family called India.

“No, it’s not my job, I didn’t do that, I am not concerned, why should I oppose those who disrespect diversities? Why should I get into controversies?”

May I ask, “Who else will mend the bridge between the diversities that is disturbed from time to time by some mindless members of the society? If you think it is the responsibilities of the leaders of our society, then do you believe they are honest enough to address those disturbing elements? If you feel they do, even then don’t you have some responsibility?”

Living within the shell of safety is cowardice. You can humbly react in your art if you are an artist, on the social media if you are active there.          

Now do not say, “That is not my responsibility.” We all are parts of the total existence, member of the India-family. We do not produce food grains, still we eat, do not weave cloth still we wear; we take the services of road, police, hospitals, judiciary and so many like these. We take our share from the society, so we need to give our share of thought and activities to it. 

We should part our mind. We can do that humbly, for the maintenance and protection of the bridge between those diversities. We should give whatsoever good we have. As an artist, we are not just cheap entertainers or jokers in the show of the society. If the almighty has given us a quality then it should have some social utility, it is not just to entertain people, earn fame or money for ourselves.            

This, our selfish attitude says why handful invaders controlled the courses of the lives of crores of Indian from time to time, why a handful of antisocial elements disturb the growth of our nation.

 When Japan surrendered in the World War 2 the king of Japan gave a great message, “Drop down your weapons, pick up your tools.” You see where that small country is now. On the peak, just because every Japanese parted his/her role. They live for their nation. When will we begin living for ours? When the nation will become the narratives of our life? Certainly soon, I trust your intellect, I trust India.      

Narrative of life.

Yesterday I went to a village to meet a grieving family.
 The elder son of that family is absconding since last one year. His wife and kids are struggling for survival.
Six month ago wife of the second son of that family summited suiside. I knew I would never know the real cause of her such act.
The reason of my visiting that family is the third son of that family. So sad to say eight days ago, the youngest son of that aged couple met a road accident and died.
But when I met those aged couples what I see, even though they were crying, they didn't hesitate to lie on many occasions. Their thoughts were focused on financial matters.
Stunning is not it?
People who witness the grave reality of life, its transitoriness are still among the mud of untruth, hiding(maintaining secrecy). Their soul is not still free from greed, hypocrisy. Still those souls are not bend towards divinity. Still they want to get something out of life. Why this?
Its because of their narrative of life. For them life means to get something, some happiness, even though they know those gains are temporary.
Forget their narratives of life, let us pray god to occupy our soul. Let us do things as they come and live for Him who created us. Let God be the sole narrative of our life.

जहाँ हरि है

जहाँ मैं है, वहां  हरि नहीं ,
जहाँ हरि है वहां मैं नहीं।

INTERNAL SURGICAL STRIKE(इंटर्नल सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक)

एक सेठ उपचार-गृह( nursing home) पहुँचता है, डॉक्टर से बोलता है, "सर, मैं ५ दिन से ठीक से सोया नहीं हूँ।
अगर थोड़ी झपकी लग भी जाता है, तो बुरे बुरे सपने आते हें। जीना हराम हो गया है। गद्दी पर बैठने की इच्छा नहीं होती है। जब तक हरे नोट का दर्शन न कर लूं, हलक से चाय तक नहीं उतरती थी। अबकी यह आलम है की नोटों का जिक्र भर होने से दिल की धड़कन तेज हो जाती है। कुछ दवा-दारू कीजिये। "
डॉक्टर साहेब बोले, "दवा तो मैं दूंगा, मगर बिस्तार से बताओ कैसे कैसे सपने आते हें ? कब से ये हाल है ?"
सेठ बोले, "साहेब जैसे ही झपकी आती है सपने में एक सफ़ेद दाढ़ी बाला आदमी आ धमकता है। मुझे हिलाकर उठाता है और पूछता है, 'सो गया क्या ?उसका क्या करोगे ?कुछ सोचा ?' मैं पूछता हूं 'तुम कौन हो भाई? चेहरा कहीं देखा हुआ सा लगता है। और तुम किसका कुछ करूंगा कर के पूछ रहे हो?' वह आदमी जबाब देता है, 'भाई और बहनों, हमे नहीं जानते हो? कोई बात नहीं, शीघ्र ही जान जाओगे। टीवी देखने का फुरसत नहीं होता होगा। कम से कम चाय तो पीते ही होंगे? कुछ साल पहले मैं चाय बेच रहा था। कई बार आप के गद्दी में आपको पिलाया हूँ। आप मुझे दो दिन में एक बार पैसे देते थे, वह भी दो तीन बार मांगने के बाद। भीन भीनाते  भीख देने जैसा चिल्हर फेंकते थे भूल गए? आप के गद्दी के सामने घंटो खड़ा रहने से आप के धन्दों-पानी, दुनियादारी सब समझ गया हूँ। आप के कितने जेब है और वो  कहां कहां है, आप के काले-सफ़ेद  सब जानता हुं।देश का कितना हक़ आप अपने तिजोरी में रखे हो मुझे मालूम है। देश एक परिबार ही तो है, फिर घर में देश का धन क्यों ? और फिर मैं किसीकी मेहनत की कमाई के ऊपर नज़र थोड़े ही डाल रहा हूँ।  १९४७  जो टिकस फंकी मारा था वो दे दो। और फिर चैन से धंदो करो। पहले भी आप को एक मौका दिया था।  जो दबाए हो और देश का हिस्सा हो निकाल दो, मैं कुछ नहीं पूछूँगा, कहाँ  से आए कैसे आए।  मगर आज़ादी से अब तक कभी कुछ हुआ नहीं बड़े लोगों का, सिर्फ कर्मचारियों का हिसाब सरकार रखता था, इसलिये ढीढ बने हुए हो। अब की बार चाय मेरा थोड़ा कड़क होगा, थोड़ी महंगी भी'।"
डॉक्टर साहेब बोले, "ढेर साल पहले एक  लड़का आप के गद्दी पर चाय देकर  मेरे क्लिनिक में चाय देने आता था, वह आज भारत का प्रधानमंत्री हो गए है।  आप नरेंद्र मोदीजी की बात कर रहे हो। वह कठोर अनुशासित अर. एस.एस. का देश भक्त है।  मेरे पास नींद की गोलियां के सिबाय और कुछ नहीं है आप को देने के लिए। आप का दवा सि.ए. के पास  हो सकता है की हो"।
सेठ सि.ए. के पास पहुँचते हें। अपना दुखड़ा रो कर मदत मांगते हें। सि.ए.बोलता है, "सेठजी, हमारे मदद की भी एक हद है। कल मोदीजी बोले हें उनकी दिमाग में कई और योजना है, कालापैसा निकलवाने का। कहीं मैं खुद न उलझ जाऊं अपने कागज कलम में। सेठजी बेहतर तो यह होगा की सीधा पैसा सरकार के पास जमा कर दीजिये और अपना हिस्सा ले लीजिये। नहीं तो मंदिर को दान दे दीजिये या गंगाजी में बहा दीजिये, भगवान भी खुस, कुछ पुण्य भी मिलजाएगा। 

Preconceived

Since last few days I was watching conversations and arguments among intellectuals on news channels and also in WhatsApp  groups.The arguments were on India, Pakistan, Kashmir, Congress, BJP, Modiji, Rahulji, JNU and many other issues.Unfortunately I do not want to regard some of  them as intellectuals, because of the following few factors....
1.Some of them are biased in matters of state they originate.In Kanhaiya case one of my learned friend came forward to say, "No the Bihari boy is not anti-national". I am sad to say why should you reach to conclusion on a matter just because he belongs to your state. Loving  your  state of origin is nothing wrong but while you are giving your opinion on a subject of national concern you should be only a thinker, otherwise your verdict can not be accepted as right.Be human being only on matters related to the whole society. Ridiculously this regionalism dominates brain of many so called literate people.
2. Some of them are biased towards the caste they belong.While arguing over Mahisasura, the giant  killed by Durga, the goddess one of my friend came forward to say people make mahisasura  look like adibashi (tribal people) and maa Durga looks like a person from upper caste  .As I mentioned earlier mahisasura was a giant as per the Hindu mythology, hence his color and structure should match the nature of a furious giant.  Our tribal brothers live in jungles hence their color may be a little bit black. Does that means you compare these simple and  innocent people with a mythological demon ? Maa Durga is a goddess, hence she should look beautiful, that is it. While making idols carvers keep its nature  in mind and make the idol. Why should my intellectual friend draw such a conclusion is not known. But such conclusions would are never do any good to our society, rather they widen the gap if any exist among people of various.castes.
   More over it is a myth. There are crores of myths in the world. No one can either prove its authenticity nor disprove them. Then what is the sense  of arguing over them ? You can not say the myth in my society or religion is right and yours is wrong and vice versa. Then let people to believe the thing they want to believe.
3. Political preconception is the worst desirable thing from learned people. People working for a political party or political leaders will definite back their party even in case it is wrong.They have a self or motive behind that.  But why some intellectuals follow parties blindly ? They allow  their intelligence to be corrupted by preconceptions They may be learned, intelligent  people but I can not say they are either  intellectuals or wise. Their intellect misguide those who listen and read them to know realities and facts. Illiterates are better than them.Undoubtedly illiterates blindly support political parties and rally behind them but they do not use their brain to temper the facts and figures in order to misguide others..They never take shelter under hypocrisy, rather they come direct and open. When you wear a colored glass you can not judge the color of a thing. But these so called intellectuals give their judgement wearing color glasses, ridiculous.
4. I have seen many news of  racial segregation coming out from western nations.I am talking about apartheid , that is existent in many European, American and African nations.Undoubtedly they are two races coming out of different origins.But what is the sense of adjudicating anyone from his/her origin ? Are they themselves responsible for their origin ? Why can not we judge them by their deeds ? I saw disbelieves  between the whites and the blacks. Some white people having a preconceived notion that the blacks are not worthy of trust or are of criminal mentality. These type of thinking is just a foolish preconception and is a big threat to a peaceful coexistence. May be more percentage of criminals are blacks but there are whites too among crimes.They need to see life and activities of Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama in order to have a broader notion about their brothers. People from literary world from both sides should be careful to not to pen such things which might widen the gap.Love is constructive and hate is destructive. What we need for our earth is construction, hence love among all of us.
5. Religious fanaticism is another example of preconception. Some handful of fanatic people develop intolerance towards other religions.Religious fanaticism leads people to participate in organised criminal conspiracy and militancy against people of other religions.They should know that a religion is nothing but a way of life. Various groups gave to themselves  religions in different times in order to lead life on a particular disciplined way.History says that people fought over religious believes from ages.That happened due to ignorance and abhorrence injected systematically and deliberately in to their brain.
                 When a child born to a family of a particular sect or religion his/her brain starts getting feedback regarding religion and worship from the family and the society  he/she or she belongs. That does never mean the group other than his/her is wrong. Let us keep a child born to a Muslim or Hindu couple with a Christian couple and in a Christian society, will he/she become devotee of Allah or Krishna until and unless he/she is guided that way?A child  brain is like a blank hard-disk  The society,parents, teachers, books feed the essential information to get it start.
           The society at times may inject wrong conceptions, but it is education our own thought process enable us to clean the virus injected in to our brain.Some of them never use their brain to judge the things.They think and work on the same way as taught by the parents and the society.They need to think about the broad spectrum of human race and act according to expectations of everyone on the earth.To follow one's own ways, own religion is never wrong but to obstruct others in leading their ways is ignorance and intolerance.
6.In present day a lot of militant activities are related to the Muslim fanatics. This make some people of the other community to regard and doubt all Muslim brothers as militants or their supporter.This is ridiculously serious preconception. May be a handful of them from the Muslim community are in a wrong way but blaming all the other innocent people from that community is by no means wisdom.
7. I was talking to man from outside India. I watched his words. He was preoccupied with a preconceived notion of being racially better. This racial supremacy preconception is also foolishness.I would like to say one thing for those who think that way, "He who thinks himself to be wise oh heaven is a great fool."
        Preconception creates mental block and disallow truth and facts to enter in to our brain. These type of people are always against innovative ideas.They may be learned but never intellectuals.The development and growth of a nation depends upon their number in the society, the lesser the number the more developed the nation. Their brain works the way it is programmed. The hard disk of their brain may contain more data but when t
hey judge things, the virus of preconception  eats away the truth and flow out corrupted conclusions.I repeat illiterate are better than them for the society. 

The wriggle of Iyar

                     See how shamelessly for the sake of power Jichand is kissing Ghori's feet,
                        Hiding the knife of conspiracy against Prithwiraj, he slanders in secret.
I saw an interview of Mr Manishankar Iyar, an Indian National Congress veteran leader with Pakistani journalists.I was stunned to listen him saying, " You remove Modi, Indo-Pak relation will be better.Some question come to my mind, which I know only he can answer better.
     1. Was Mr Narendra Modi the premier of India in the year 1965 when Indo-Pak war took place ?
     2.Was Modiji  ruling India in the year1971 when Bangladesh got freedom after an Indo-Pak war ?
     3. Was Modiji in power when the Pakistani army fought the Kargil war in the year 1999 under the leadership of General Pervej Musharraf ?
     4.Was the bilateral relation very nice in congress rule ? Were they not helping infiltration of militants in to           India in congress rules ?
     5.In a democratic system the fate of a political party is decided by the citizens of a country. Due to                 scams, corruptions and bad governance, Indian National Congress the political party Mr Iyer  represents        was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party led by Modiji. A change of rule is  natural in democratic                  politics.But the question is  which type of wriggle was that on being out of power you wanted to seek             help of our neighboring nation ?
Media people are naturally wise and smart persons.One of them asked. " How can we from Pakistan remove Modiji, is your hints towards I.S.I. to do that for you ?" The journalist felt this is the only probable way Modiji can be removed with the help of Pakistan or any Pakistani machinery.
     Let us see how Modiji can be removed from the premiership.....
   1. When the parliamentary election takes place in the year 2019, the BJP lose majority and Modiji steps down or even if the BJP wins someone else lead the party.In both the cases the Indian citizens only would be the voters and Pakistan will not be having any role to play.
    2. A split in the BJP that lead to a midterm poll and the BJP lose it, in that case also Modiji will have to go out of power. But Pakistan or any of its mercenary can do nothing towards this.
    3. Assassination of Modiji is the probable way that the Pakistani secret agency can materialize.One can reach to this hidden hint of Mr Iyer when he said, " You remove Modi,.."  in Pakistan.
  In order to know the graveness of Mr Iyar's statement we need to analyse the fate and course of democracy in India and Pakistan.
           In independent Pakistan there are many examples of democratically elected populist governments were dismissed by the muscle power of military rulers before completion of their tenure. People like general Ayub Khan, general Yahya Khan, general Zia-ul-Haq and general Pervez Musharraf smashed the soul of democracy. But India never interfered in their internal matters. Iskander Mirja (the first president of Pakistan), Mr Nawaj Sariff, Mrs Benazir Bhutto and lastly general Pervez Musharraf  lived in exile for years when they were out of power. Liaquat Ali Khan( the first prime minister of Pakistan), Benazir Bhutto were assassinated and Z.A.Bhutto was hanged to death. Martial laws were proclaimed many times in Pakistan smiling at its democracy.
           In India never any political leader needed a political asylum or was exiled. No former state chief is hanged.Indira Gandhi was assassinated due to her patriotic efforts to save India from being divided by the Khalistan movement. Rajiv Gandhi was martyred due to his brave efforts to free Srilanka  from terror threats of the Tamil militant group LTTE. None of them was a political murder.Twenty one months period from 1975 to 1977 of internal emergency was the only dark days of democracy in India for which the then ruling party congress was thrown out of power as a punishment by the citizens.Except this Indian politics and leaders always respected democracy and its norms.
          Many more questions still rising in my mind.
  Which type of help our respected Iyarji and his party was seeking from a nation that has tarnished the image of democracy so many times ?
   How could he forget the sovereignty , integrity, dignity and republic nature of  our nation when he begged help from them to remove Modiji ?
 When you are in a foreign tour your words are regarded as the voice of your nation and its people. You represent us and the congress there. Is this in the mind of the congress to dethrone Modiji as it happened many times  in Pakistan and that too with the help of the ISI ?
  Which type of wriggle is this,on being away from power you wanted the enemy nation to remove your prime minister by hook or by crook ?
   Is this not what one can say intolerance ?
    We need to learn from history. Ghori did not spare Jaichand who invited him to take revenge from Prithwiraj. The Britishers hanged patriots like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Jaiguru but were they able stop India from being free from foreign rule ?
 There are many  bold people in the nation like Manohar Parikar, Dr Raman Singh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan who can walk in Modi's way. The BJP is not handicapped and dependent on a person or  a family.The nation is significant, not any individual or a family or any political party. Those words of you are a shame on us all.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY 1

Dreaming is highly required to reach certain hight,achieve desired goal. Until and unless you dream something,think over your dream, chalk out a plan and work on it you will live aimlessly and reach the place where life lands you. I would say such life is not a living simply existing just like many other living beings does.Eat, sex,reproduction, sleep are characteristics of  unwise creatures. Human beings are different from them because of a developed brain to think,plan,proceed and progress ,even though you might have noticed there are many of them who simply exist like them.They do not have any choice regarding listening to news, music, books,knowledge of surrounding, interest in food,clothings,politics,movies,sports,writing computer,mobiles or any other thing which might make them different from those unwise creatures.At the day break they go out for work to earn a livelihood,got back at the evening, went out to the betel or tea shop to kill some time,reach home at night ,eat, make sex and sleep. Then again repeat the day in that routine manner.They you can watch bear indifferent attitude towards local problems, visiting new places,political choice and directly speaking in everything.I once asked one of such mentality "who will come to power this year's
election ?" His answer was simply stunning "What will become of me and what I will gain if this comes comes to power or that".My reply gone past over his head." What is the sense of your living if you are to die one day ?" If all human beings think his way then we could have been going to different places by foot, eating raw food,fighting to kill and survive.Civilization progresses and prospers by using brains  along with brans. God has given a developed brain to human beings to think,judge, plan,dream for oneself and for the whole society giving priority to the interest and benefit of the larger body.So think and answer to yourself what you think of yourself while benefiting fellow human beings.Be a thinker and think of yourself and the whole world.
