You fill
life-sustaining air all over your atmosphere,
Indiscriminately for
all your children to respire.
Grow trees and
creepers rending your heart,
Decorate yourself with
leaves, flowers and fruits.
Create oceans sharing
your body into parts,
Flow rivers shading lines on your soft crust.
Rotate around the sun
to give us various seasons
To split day from
night you spin around your axis.
Embellish your roof
with the moon and stars,
To illuminate our
nights with dazzling protectors.
You make every
possible effort to fulfill our needs
That an affectionate
mother provides to her kids.
When we take so much
as our rights from your treasure,
We must be judicious
in our duties towards our mother.
II
Oh Mother! We owe you
for all those you present us,
But are we grateful
for your blessings and efforts?
We poison her
environment; injure her generous structure,
By testing chemical and biological warheads in
her core.
In order to dominate
over each other in mutual enmity,
Oppress and exploit
our brethren for our false vanity.
Rapid
industrialization is no doubt essential for our progress,
But we do not care
about proper disposal of toxic thrashes.
We flush them away
irresponsibly in life supporting water,
Dump them in open and
leave them to pollute the air.
Unscrupulously deforest, sloppily use natural resources,
And eliminate various
life forms for our short-term gains
Oh incredible mother
earth, our lone shelter, sole benefactor,
We are ungrateful in
behavior, selfish in attitude and reckless in nature.
Forgive us, as we know
not that a mother can never be substituted,
It’s unlikely to
discover or invent another asylum for us, the ill-fated.
We do not harm you;
destroy you in our casual behavior,
We chop our own root,
dig our own grave, and spoil our own future.
