BJP ON THE TEST

Following a split verdict in assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir two ideological adversities the B.J.P.and the P.D.P.  made alliance to form the government. They are expected to follow a common minimum programme suiting to both of them addressing Public welfare and developmental issues.Both of them have totally different vote holds, BJP in Jammu and PDP in Kashmir. Thus the government is supposed to be vigilant over the lines crossing any of the partners. But chasing vote bank and ensuring support base is seen to be in top priority for the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of PDP. By giving credit to Pakistan over smooth and peaceful polls in J&K he took away credit from the central government, trigger discontent among BJP leaders and gave away opposition a point to raise.He hits the BJP once more by releasing Hurriyat hardliner Masarat Alam. According  to the chief minister Alam is a political prisoner and not a separatist having extremist links. The CM may be correct in his and his party's stands and as per him he is fulfilling their election manifesto.PDP represents mainly Muslim dominated Kashmir and his political base demands such a step.But while having an alliance with the BJP, a national political party and ruling party in the Centre the PDP should not touch such sensitive points and put its partner in trouble.Moreover as per Prime minister  Narendra Modi the Centre(BJP) is not informed of such big and sensitive  steps.This also against the basic norms of coalition governments.The Indian National Congress , the once partner in ruling of PDP is getting a big issue to go against the BJP and break the support base of the former.

Now some vital questions arise. Should the BJP break the alliance or continue it ignoring.the discontentment within it and outside it ? Should the BJP bargain its ideology for greediness of power or come strong in it ?The choice is between power and policy.

I think it should quit power otherwise loose its face in Kashmir and the rest of India.It is a political party born of the Ram Mandir issue having the Jansangh,the RSS, the Bajrangdal, the VHP as its back bone.In order to be in power in a small state like J&K it should not go to the other side of the river keeping the boat like majority-votes on this side.Either the BJP should react strongly or be prepared to loose old friends.

The top brand BJP leaders are now dealing with words not deed. May be it means " You do this and I will oppose" type of politics it is doing.A false fight is going on between the BJP and the PDP.It should not think it can be-fool people and take their votes.People may listen to you but will watch your moves also. The Dehli assembly polls are definite example. It is a very recent history , either the BJP should learn from it or not it is up to it.
