RAKHI, the bond of love

Immortal Yamuna waits for her mighty brother Yama this day once a year,
To get together and tie on his hand a Rakhi, the sacred colorful woven fiber.

Maa Laxmi made Bali a brother to free Vishnu from being captivated in His own boon forever,
Draupadi tied a piece of cloth on the wounded hand of Krishna that made him her brother.

Commemorating those mythological happenings, corroborating the bond of affection,
Sisters tie rakhi on the wrists of their brothers as a bond of love as well as protection
.
With much enthusiasm, immense emotions they pre-plan  this day to be together,
To share their heart, make merry, remind their pleasant past and chalk out their future.

She desires success, growth, prosperity and good health for him, holds him in her prayer,
Smiles with his pleasure, cries in his pain, feels lifted in his success, downcast in his failure.

Pradipta on this great occasion, have a wish, a demand, an oath from all brothers,
Treat other women with the same affection and respect as you give to your own sister.

Before falling prey to beastly instincts and sabotaging a life, close your eyes and thank God,
That He had made you human and not a slave of body but a master of a beautiful mind.

Before doing down in your character, get up to see the pleasure of respecting someone,
And getting respect, applaud, trust of the society, huge mental satisfaction in return.

The period and volume of pleasure one get out of inflicting pain or sorrow to others is small,
Whereas the curse of a soul, the sufferings for such misdeeds, inhuman acts, sins is ample

Doing a favor to someone, causing a smile on a face gives infinite pleasure and satisfaction

Every offence has a punishment, good deed a reward, I leave it on you what you wish to earn
