THIS EVENING

This evening,

The last evening of the year,

Is the evening to take some tough resolutions.

It’s high time to make our mind free,

From the vanity of richness and power,

Those which are transitory like bubbles of water.

It’s time to withdraw ourselves,

From the blind run of material possessions,

Which leaves man empty handed at the destination.

It’s time to do a volte-face

Towards the taste of tongue and sexuality,

Those that corrupt our mentality.

It’s time to live like lotus leaves,

Live and interact in the society, do our duties,

Still remain dry of its vices and complexities.

It’s the evening to quit,

Every social and physical addiction,

And sink in the nectar of Krishna-devotion.

Before it’s too late,

Before He recalls us from this earth.

वक्त आगया है चलो चलें  कृष्णपथ।
